Abstract:
      The land productive potential is 1 459 kg/hm2 and the a ctual productivity is 794.5 kg/hm2 in agriculture and pasturage interlaced zo ne of northern Shaanxi. At present, the grain output per capita is 350.67 kg whi ch is not more than the lowest consumption standard formulated by China. To mee t the middle and high standards of China and the world, crop production should b e improved so as to raise population bearing capacity. Thus the following measur es should be taken into practice: increasing vegetation to control land desertif ication; developing installation agriculture and irrigation agriculture to incre ase crop production; improving means of fertilization to raise soil fertility; e xploiting bottomland in line with local conditions.
