Abstract:
This paper evaluated the resistance to powdery mildew in 102 varieties of C. melo var. makuwa Makino and 14 var. flexuosus Naud in air-conditioned greenhouse by wind media inoculation. The results showed that 7 of 102 varieties on C. melo var. makuwa Makino varieties and 1 of 14 varieties in var. flexuosus Naud were high resistant, and their disease index were zero. 1 of 14 varieties in var. flexuosus Naud was resistant, and its disease index was 0. 9. These indicated that population of landraces have resistant genes which had a potential value to melon breeding.
