Abstract:
Due to natural and man-made effects, nutrient patches generally exist in soil. From 1970s, many researches on nutrient patches have been conducted by various simulating methods in abroad, especially to nitrogen nutrient patch. The results indicated that nitrogen nutrient patches significantly affected proliferation of primary root, but the responses varied with plant species. The mechanism wasn't clear. In soil, any nutrient patch was a zone of increased microbial activity and population number, which had special role in nutrient cycles. Nutrient patch may also affect physical, chemical and biological properties of soil, but researches on those were few. This article briefly reviewed research progress on nitrogen nutrient patch.
