Abstract:
Water absorption and drought resistant of different growth seed at four stages of swelling, germinating, seeding and seedling about Desmodium triflorum (L) DC. and Paspalum L. salom seashore were studied. The results showed that water absorption of these two turf plants at the seed swelling stage were 51% and 43%, were 17% and 19% at seed sprount stage, were 32% and 38% at germinating stage. The lowest soil moisture of maintaining germinating seed .seeding seed and seedling after seeding stand coming up were not less than 5%, and continuous drought day was not over 10 days. Otherwise, there was lack of seedling greatly. Drought resistant of swelling seed of two turf plants was as same as that of dry seed. Drought resistant of germinating seed was the bounds that being high or low of seedling drought resistant. Drought resister of seedling during bud seed came up highly.
