Abstract:
Based on the daily precipitation data at 67 stations in east Gansu and south Ningxia from 1971 to 2000, The paper discussed the features of the first soaking rain in spring with EOF and REOF method, divided up the climate regions, and analyzed the correlativity between it and sea surface temperature(SST) of North Pacific. It was indicated that the trend of the average date of soaking rain in the north part was contrary to that in the south part; the first soaking rain was relatively late in 1970's and 1990's, and early in 1980's; the spring precipitation; was higher in the years with early soaking rain than in the years with late soaking rain there was a negative correlationship between the date of first soaking rain and SST of North Pacific. i.e., the first soaking rain was early when SST of North Pacific was high, and it was late when SST of North Pacific was low.
