Abstract:
Based on the thorough improvement of irrigation and drainage engineering in Weiganhe valley, the high-yield planting techniques was demonstrated in 13.4 hm2 farmland by using improved varieties, raising sowing quality, increasing the application rate of base fertilizer, and adopting intensive management measures. The total yield of winter wheat and summer corn in the demonstrative fields reached (9 489) kg/hm2 in 1995 and 13 398 kg/hm2 in 1996, being 6 186 kg/hm2 and 10 095 kg/hm2 higher than that in 1993. Therefore, the grain production in the demonstrative area was greatly enhanced. The high-yield techniques can be widely extended in other similar areas with low productivity.
