| This paper summarizes the role of leguminous plants in symbiotic nitrogen fixation, soil and water conservation and sand-shifting control, and analyzes their foraging, feeding and medical value. It shows the wide prospective to utilize leguminous plants in the development of sustainable agriculture. |
