Abstract:
The main influence factors of water transport in plants are weather conditions (including solar radiation, air temperature, humidity, wind speed, and ambient CO2 concentration), soil water condition, stomatal conductance, leaf area, resistance of water transport in plants, and so on. It is showed that the diurnal variation of transpiration is caused by diurnal variation of weather conditions, while the annual variation of transpiration is mainly related to the change of soil water, leaf area and climate. Tissue storage water and xylem cavitation can also affect water transport in plants.
