Abstract:
Under different drought-stress conditions simulated by different concentration of polyethylene glycol 6000(PEG6000),physiological indices of drought resistance in Leymus chinensis and Leymus cinereus as well as their hybrid were studied. The results showed that for the hybrid and its parents, the relative water contents in leaves decreased; the relative electric conductivity and malon-dialdehyde (MDA) content in leaves increased under all drought-stress. Superoxide diamutase(SOD) activity increased under 15%PEG treatment and 25%PEG treatment, but SOD activity began to decrease under 35%PEG treatment. Furthermore, the drought resistance of the hybrid is similar to that of Leymus chinensis and stronger than that of Leymus cinereus under 15%PEG and 25%PEG treatment.
