| Abstract: |
| Water and fertilizer, as well as their coupling effects are the main decisive factors to yield of crops on dry land. This paper summarizes the main research progress in the aspects of the relationship between water and fertilizer on dry land; the effects of water and fertilizer on growth, yield and water use efficiency (WUE); the impacts of fertilization on ecological environment and quality of agricultural products, as well as the models of water and fertilizer coupling and the research approaches. Furthermore, it proposes the study fields needed to be strengthened in the future: the impacts of fertilization on the quality of agricultural products and ecological environment, the selection of field and simulating experiments according to the research purposes, and the development of more universal models of water and fertilizer coupling. |
