Abstract:
Under drought stress, the MDA content,SOD activity, proline content and 24 h water losing rate in the flag leaves of Betaine Aldehyde Dehydrogenase (BADH) transgenic rice strains 51-15, 51-22 and their parents (Zhonghua8, Han297) were measured after flowering. The results indicated that both 51-15 and 51-22 had lower MDA content than Zhonghua8 and Han297 during 10~25 d after flowering; The SOD activity of the four strains went up gradually and then went down suddenly during 5~15 d after flowering; The SOD activity of both 51-15 and 51-22 is significantly higher than that of Zhonghua8 during 10~25 d after flowering; Though it changed unstably, the proline content of both 51-15 and 51-22 was remarkably higher than that of Zhonghua8; The 24 h water-losing rate of both 51-15 and 51-22 was lower than that of Zhonghua8. The results of correlation analysis showed that MDA content was negatively related to SOD activity and proline content; There was a significant linear positive correlation between SOD activity and proline content; There was a significant linear negative correlation between MDA content and rice yield; SOD activity and proline content were positively related to rice yield.
