| Abstract: |
| The loess hilly and gully areas face the severe shortage of water resources because of insufficient precipitation and varied topography．In this paper，the roles of terrace in water and soil conservancy are discussed．Taking Zhuanglang County in Gansu province as a case，terrace construction is verified to be an important technique measure to harness water and soil erosion and improve ecological environment，and has a great application prospect in the ecological restoration engineering． |
