Abstract:
The effects of drought stress on the absorption and distribution of nutrients and yield and quality of flue-cured tobacco(Nicotiana tabacum L.) were studied by pot experiment. The results showed that the concentration of N in tobacco plants was increased and the content of P,K,Ca,Mg,Fe and Mn was decreased significantly by drought stress, while the change of Cu,Zn and B content was not significant. It was also found that the absorption of all kinds of nutrients in the plants was decreased obviously, and their distribution ratio in roots and stalks was higher than that in leaves under drought stress, which resulted in the decline of yield and quality of flue-cured tobacco. The severer the drought, the more significant the effects were. The yield and quality of tobacco were influenced noticeably when drought stress occurred at vigorous growing stage and maturing stage respectively.
