Abstract:
This paper is to provide scientific basis for the cultivation of Red Fuji apple in Alar irrigated area from the viewpoint of ecological and climatic adaptability with the purpose to regulate the agricultural structure. The mean annual temperature, the mean temperature and the warmth index during the growing season(April to October) of Red Fuji apple were compared between Alar irrigated area and the main cultivation zones in both Japan and China, based on the meteorological data(1961~2003) of Alar city.In addition, this paper evaluated systematically the meteorological conditions of Alar irrigated area for the growth of red Fuji apple. The results show that the climatic conditions of Alar irrigated area is similar with those of Yantai, the famous planting area of apple in China, and the natural ecological conditions of light and heat in Alar are adaptable to the growth of late-maturation varieties of Red Fuji apple. It is concluded that Alar irrigated area is an ideal region for the production of Red Fuji apple.
