Abstract:
The functional response of Cicindela lactescripta Motschulsky adult to the first and second instar nymphs of Oxya chinensis(Thunberg) was investigated in the laboratory. The results showed that the functional responses of C.lactescripta to the first-and second-instar nymphs of O.chinensis fitted HollingⅡ type equation, which were Na1=1.14 Nt/(1+0.17814 Nt) and Na2=1.01 Nt/(1+0.26886 Nt),respectively.Furthermore, obvious intraspecific interference was also found in the experiment, the average predation number, predation ratio(E) and natural enemy density(P) was described with Hassell model equations, namely E1=0.710840 Pt-0.455081(first-instar nymph) and E2=0.526348 Pt-0.522152(second-instar nymph).x2 test showed that the theoretical expectation calculated fitted well with the observed value.
