Abstract:
The article summarized the common methods of measuring water footprint currently, and analyzed synoptically the usual principle of calculating virtual water. The relationship of consumption of water footprint per capita and water use in provinces of China in 2000 is analyzed. With the help of statistical analytical software SPSS, a cluser analysis is made of consumption of water footprint per capita in provinces of China. In the end, based on GIS (Geographical Information System) , a spatial distribution map is made and the consumption of water footprint per capita in 31 provinces of China are divided into five types. The result is that: only Guangxi's consumption of water footprint per capita is below 480 m3/a;Sichuang, Guizhou, Jiangxi and Zhejiang are between 480~550 m3/a;The consumption of water footprint per capita in the provinces of Xinjiang, Gansu, Ningxia, Shanxi, Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Heilongjiang, Liaoning is categorized between 700~850 m3/a;The provinces of Inner Mongolia and Qinghai have a high consumption of 850~950 m3/a;Other provinces lie in 550~700 m3/a.
