Abstract:
To examine the effects of ozone on lipid peroxidation, and anti-oxidation system of the seedlings of wheat, field study was carried out by using open top chamber(OTCs).The results revealed that with ozone concentration rising, the relative electric conductivity and MDA content of the leaves increased.Compared to the CK treatment, ozone treatments caused a 20.9% decrease in grain weight of ear remarkably. The trend of changes of O-2 producing rates of wheat leaves, H2O2 content increased under ozone treatment. The SOD,CAT and POD activities declined in various stages of wheat growth and this change appeared remarkable. No significant change was detected about antioxidants such as the carotinoid content and ascorbate content.Accordingly,it can be seen that ozone intensify the damage to their membrane lipid, and impair the function of their antioxidation system,in such a way exerting influence on their regular physiological metabolism.
