Abstract: |
Effects of seeds soaking with different concentrations of Ca(NO3)2 and inhibitors of Ca2+ signal system on some osmolytes, including soluble protein, soluble sugar and proline in pepper under low temperature stress were investigated. The results indicated that calcium(40 mmol/L) treatment could increase markedly the content of soluble sugar, soluble protein and proline. Moreover, addition of calmodulin antagonist W7 could decrease markedly the content of soluble sugar, soluble protein and praline under low temperature. It is suggested that Ca2+ signal system may have close relationship with the change of some osmolytes in Pepper under low temperature. |
