Abstract:
In order to explore soil enzyme activity and its relation to soil fertility under the circumstances of long-term conservation tillage, determination and analysis were conducted of the soil enzyme activity and soil fertility after 7 year conservation tillage in sloping dryland of west Henan Province. The results showed that the activity of soil urease, catalase and invertase increased obviously under sub-soiling tillage and no-tillage, especially the enzyme activity in 0~10 cm soil layer, and the soil urease activity increased most. The correlation analysis of soil enzyme activity showed that there was a positive correlation between urease and the content of organic matter, total P,available P,available K and available N,between invertase and the content of total P and total K, and between catalase and the content of total P. It indicated that soil urease activity can be used as an index of soil fertility, while catalase may play an auxiliary function.
