Abstract:
Leaf-color inverted wheat are used as material to survey and compare the important indexes of morph, physiology and production of the wheat so as to study the laws of inverted senescing sequence of wheat leaves and to re-veal its significances in theory and practice. The results show that the flag leaf of the inverted sequence stem ages before the second leaf and consequently the flag leaf area and chlorophyll content are smaller than those of the second leaf in the latter period of its maturity. The physiological change causes the 1 000-kernel weight and the volume of the kernel are larger than those of the conventional sequence stem and the 1 000-kernel weighs highly more than that of the conventional sequence stem, increasing weight 7. 08%0 by means. The dualization of the senescing mechanism of wheat needs more exploration. The paper intends to provide new method for the breeding of new varieties of wheat.
