Abstract:
In gray-brown desert soil in Hexi Corridor of Gansu, a study was carried out on the effect of planting sainfoin on the improvement of qray brown desert soil. The results showed that the fresh qrass yield of 3-year old sainfoin was 64.50 t/hm2,equalling hay 22.57 t/hm2,and the output value was 14, 700 yuan/hm2; compared with CK,0~20 cm topsoil field capacity, aggregates, total porosity increased by 12.05%,18. 33% and 15. 47%, while the bulk den-sity and pH decreased by 0.41g/cm3 and 0.70, respectively; the total salt reduced from 5.15 g/kg to 2.19 g/kg, with a desalination rate of 57.48%; and organic matter and av ailable NPK also increased.
