Abstract:
Hydrus-1D model was applied to simulate soil water infiltration under different raining duration in sloping farmland and level terraces. The results showed that HYDRUS-1D proved to be a powerful and useful tool for simulating the water movement of soil in sloping land and level terrace. In the soil depth, the CV of soil moisture at 0~40 cm was in medium variation, it decreased with the depth, while in other depths the CV was in weak variation. Runoff occurred at 23 min in the 1.45 mm/min rainfall intensity in sloping field, however, there was no runoff in the whole process in level terrace. And in the same condition, the infiltration and soil moisture content in level terrace were higher than these in sloping land. When rainfall duration was 10 min, the water content in soil depth of 0~15 cm in level terrace was 0.13%~1.65% more than that in sloping land, and in the soil depth of 30~200 cm, there was no infiltration in either level terrace or sloping land. In soil depth of 0~20 cm, the moisture content in level terrace were 0.05%~2.22% and 0.01%~2% higher than that in sloping land when rainfall duration was 20 min and 30 min respectively.
