Abstract:
The drought tolerance of 31 maize hybrids predominantly planted in Jilin Province was directly analyzed by reduction percentage. At the same time, the appropriate indices for the identification of drought tolerance were screened by the correlation between candidate morphological indices at seedling, florescence and filling stages and reduc-tion percentage of these hybrids. Based on the above indices, drought tolerance among 68 elite inbred lines was indirectly evaluated. The main results were summarized as follows:(1)Among 31 maize hybrids, we screened 6 hybrids with high drought tolerance, 12 hybrids with drought tolerance, 5 hybrids with medium drought tolerance, 7 hybrids with drought susceptible, and l hybrid with high drought susceptible; (2)The plant height and stem diameter were the appropriate morphological indices for whole growth period in field; (3)Among 68 maize inbred lines, we screened 6 lines with high drought tolerance, 21 lines with drought tolerance, 28 lines with medium drought tolerance, 7 lines with drought suscep-tible, 6 lines with high drought susceptible. The results would provide reference for screening germplasms with drought tolerance in Jilin region.
