Abstract:
By adopting the combination of drought resistance index and membership function method, two treatments (drought stress and normal irrigation) were set in Dunhuang city where annual rainfall is less than 40mm. Seven drought relevant agronomic traits, including plant height, branch number, pods per plant, grains per plant, seed number per plant, seed weight per plant, 100 seed weight and biomass, were analyzed by a combination of drought index and membership function methods. The responses of the investigated agronomic traits to drought stress varied at different levels. The responses of branch number and 100 seed weight were slow, whereas those of biomass and seed weight per plant were fast. According to the clustering result of drought resistance value (D value), 12 drought-resistant soybean germplasms (Spry, Jindou 21, Xiataizimoshidou, etc.) were selected from 123 soybean germplasms tested. It seemed to be feasible using a combination of drought index and membership function methods to analyze multiple agronomic traits, which could effectively evaluate drought resistance of soybean germplasms. Compared to single index, this comprehensive evaluation was stable and useful in revealing the relationship between indexes and drought resistance.
