Abstract:
In order to explore the mechanism of frost heaving damage for canal lining, using the finite element software ABAQUS, carried out the numerical simulation through first thermal and after force for the process of frost heaving on trapezoidal canal. In the simulation process can be divided into two conditions as considering Goodman contact model and non-consider contact model. The obtained results were compared with the prototype canal data, respectively. The results showed that: The considering Goodman contact model was more conformed to the actual situation and can be well explained the phenomenon as the frost heaving damage position was at the middle of the canal bottom plate and 1/3 of the slope plate distance foot of 1/3 slope plate. The obtained results can be used in design for anti-frost in canals.
