Abstract: |
A pot experiment and a plot experiment were adopted to investigate the effects of drought-resistant seed-dressing agent on seedling growth, yield and kernel quality of maize, respectively. The results of the pot experiment indicated that the drought-resistant seed-dressing agent could promote the root system development of maize seedling, increase the fresh weight and dry weight, improve the content of chlorophyll and the activity of antioxidase SOD, POD and CAT of corn seedling, and reduce the content of MDA of corn seedling. The best effect was achieved when the weight ratio between the agent and seed was 1∶14. The results of the plot experiment indicated that the drought-resistant seed-dressing agent could increase the content of water, coarse protein and lysine by 0.40%, 0.84% and 0.03%, respectively; decrease coarse fat and coarse starch by 0.13% and 0.88%, respectively; increase panicle length, panicle width, panicle row number, line grain number, hundred-grain weight and yield by 1 cm, 0.24 cm, 0.7 lines, 3.3 grains, 79 grains, 1.89 g and 14.20%; and decrease barren tip by 0.38 cm. In conclusion, drought-resistant seed-dressing agent could promote seedling growth of maize, improve panicle traits and kernel nutrient qualities of maize, and increase maize yield. |
