Abstract: |
Spring is the most serious season of soil salification in Hetao Inner Mongolia. A field experiment was conducted on top soil mulched by Medicago sativa, Leymus chinensis, Puccinellia distans, Panicum virgatum, Melilotus Mill, Salsola collinag and Avena sativa in Hetao Inner Mongolia to assess effects of residues from different plant specie on pH and saline during winter and spring for selecting appropriate winter and spring mulching vegetation vegetation in the area. The results indicated that the EC value of top soil decreased 42%~73%, averagely reduced 61% by plant residue mulched in winter and spring. It might be related to decreased contents of Na+、K+、Ca2+、Mg2+ and Cl-. However, the pH value, CO32- and HCO3- content increased. In general, the perennial plants residue mulching have better effect on alleviating soil salinization. In addition, Medicago sativa L, Leymus chinensis and Panicum virgatum are suitable to be used as the regional mulching vegetation in winter and spring. |
