| In order to investigate the optimal kiwifruit mulching pattern in kiwifruit orchards in Guanzhong region, an experiment utilized three\|year\|old ‘Xuxiang’ kiwifruit plants was carried out under three different ground mulching treatments: intra\|row fabric + inter\|row grass mulching (FG),intra\|row fabric + inter\|row bare ground (FN),intra\|row bare ground + inter\|row grass mulching (NG),and intra\|row bare ground + inter\|row bare ground (NN) as the control, to analyze the effects of different mulching methods on the soil water storage, fruit shape, yield and quality of kiwifruit in each reproductive period. The entropy weight method was applied to evaluate the three types of kiwifruit fruit indicators (fruit yield, growth, and quality),and the TOPSIS method was used to comprehensively evaluate each mulching treatment. The results showed that the dual mulching method (FG) could simultaneously increase soil water storage both within and between kiwifruit rows. Compared with the control (NN) treatment,soil water storage within rows increased by 10.06% (2021) and 38.19% (2022),while soil water storage between rows increased by 3.97% (2021) and 3.89% (2022)in treatment FG throughout the entire growth period. The dual mulching method (FG) significantly enhanced kiwifruit fruit volume (increase rate of 24.18% and 24.54% in 2021 and 2022 respectively), soluble solid content (8.06% and 10.89%),soluble sugar content (17.79% and 14.08%), and the solid\|acid ratio (22.80% and 20.16%) over the two years,while significantly reducing titratable acid content (decrease rate of 13.25% and 8.47% in 2021 and 2022 respectively). The effects of different mulching methods on the three yield indicators of kiwifruit (number of fruit per plant, single fruit quality, and yield per plant) were generally consistent,with the order of effectiveness being FG > FN > NG > NN. Using the entropy weight method to assign weight to each indicator of the kiwifruit, the highest weight was assigned to soluble sugar content,with values of 0.3032 (2021) and 0.2450 (2022), followed by single\|plant yield and fruit volume. According to the TOPSIS method,the dual mulching method (FG) had the highest closeness coefficient (Ci), indicating that it is the most conducive to kiwifruit growth in the Guanzhong region. In summary,the mulching mode of intra\|row fabric + inter\|row grass mulching can be promoted and used in kiwifruit orchards in the Guanzhong area. |
