| Abstract: |
| To address the resource scarcity of Forsythia suspensa in the Shangdang region, Pingshun County, which is located within this region and represents one of its major production areas of authentic medicinal Forsythia suspensa, was selected as the study area. A total of 144 occurrence records were obtained through field surveys. Seventy\|three environmental variables, including precipitation, temperature, sunshine duration, topography, and soil factors, were incorporated to conduct cultivation suitability zoning for Forsythia suspensa using the Maximum Entropy (MaxEnt) model, and the contributions of different environmental factors were evaluated. On this basis, land-use data were integrated to further refine the suitability assessment by excluding unsuitable land-use types such as forestland and construction land. The results showed that the growth of Forsythia suspensa in Pingshun County was mainly influenced by soil organic carbon content and sand content in 5 cm to 15 cm soil layer, mean sunshine duration in June and September, and mean precipitation in July. Suitable areas for Forsythia suspensa were primarily distributed in the eastern part of Dongshitou Township and the western part of Hongtiguan Township, with a total suitable area of 636.28 km2. Considering the requirements of forest ecosystem conservation and farmland protection, the actual suitable distribution area of Forsythia suspensa was reduced to 428.73 km2, of which 303.53 km2 was classified as highly suitable. |
